ACIM STUDY GROUP

"A Course in Miracles" study group meets in the St. Luke's Library at 4:00 each Wednesday to study the Text and Workbook together.  We explore and encourage each other to practice forgiveness rather than judgment, and we open our minds to experience the miracle of a change in perception.  For more information, call Ann Fiery at 304-617-5714, or visit acim.org.

Robyn lives at 1435 Park Avenue, #8 Directions from big church, left on 224, continue on Park Avenue into Old Town.  Green building on the right after "Alpen Hof". Plenty of street parking right in front.Come join us! Call Theresa, 435-659-9667 with any questions.

WE COLLECT NONPERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS FOR THOSE IN NEED EVERY SUNDAY:

We are encouraging all members to start making donations in the little red wagon in the foyer at the church and in the basket at the chapel.

Top requests: tuna, corn, soup, green peas, canned fruit, peanut butter, mac & cheese, cooking oils, non-refrigerated juices!  organic and gluten free options are also welcomed!

We would love it if the children would make weekly  donations through the encouragement of their families and Sunday school classes.  It would be very meaningful for the children to arrive at church each Sunday with a donation for the Christian Center food pantry!  Helping others in need would become a very special party of their church life and experience.

A STUDY OF THE HISTORY OF CAPITALISM

One often hears that the United States "is a Christian nation."  Is it really?  Which system influences our daily decisions and activities more: Christianity or Capitalism? Perhaps we could benefit by looking critically at Capitalism, at its history, key ideas and values, most important thinkers and their contributions, and its development over the centuries. Is Capitalism spiritually and morally good for us or is it toxic? Why....why not? If a study such as this interests you, please join me Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. Each week we will listen to a half-hour lecture on DVD followed by an hour of informal discussion and debate.  All lectures are free-standing so it does not matter much if you missed earlier ones.  Come to class whenever you are in town. BYOB and one or two friends.
